A biophilic escape

House Rules & User Manual

Welcome aboard The Floating Terrarium. Before you start your adventure, please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the following guidelines and information to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

Rules

Boat Movement: You are not permitted to move the boat. Please enjoy the scenic views from the comfort of your moored boat.

Lights: Turn off all lights when leaving the boat to conserve energy.

Security: Use the coded lock on the front door and bolt the hatch to secure the boat when not aboard, ensuring its safety.

Glass Policy: No glass outside the boat please. Plastic cups and plates are provided for your convenience.

Water Quality: Tap water is drinkable, however we would recommend filling from the external tap situated nearest to the bow of the boat to ensure it is fresh.

Party Guidelines: This is a serene place and parties are not allowed. Please keep it cute and chill. No loud music after 11 p.m. Please follow standard quiet times as complaints may result in additional charges.

Fire Exits and Extinguishers

Fire exits are located at both ends of the boat; please use the steps at the stern to exit out the back doors of the vessel.

Please use the glass break hammer in an emergency if you are situated in the bow of the boat to exit through one of the large windows.

If you require a fire extinguisher, one is located within the electrical cupboard on the right-hand side of the stairs.

A secondary extinguisher is located under the sink.

Carbon Monoxide Detector

The Carbon Monoxide alarm is located in the stern on the astroturf wall.

THIS NEXT BIT IS VERY IMPORTANT!

Toilet Usage

There are two holes; Liquids go in the front and solids in the back.

Do not put toilet paper in the toilet; use the black bin provided.

Cover the solids with extra sawdust provided.

Use the lever on the right side to engage the modesty hatch and cover the solids hole when not in use.

Liquids go into a 5litres container, a blue light will turn on if the container is nearing full.

To change over the container: Find clean container under the sink. Lift all toilet lids up, screw the lid from the empty container onto the full container, lift out and replace. Put the full container onto the back deck.

Overflown toilet will incur a charge of £100.

Shower

Water will not drain naturally; use the switch on the right side of the sink to activate the whale gulper.

Turn on shower normally to use. Switch off the whale gulper when water is drained.

Heating and Water

Eco temperature is set at 14 degrees, monitored by the Nest system. Please let me know if you request a specific temperature on arrival and I will increase or decrease it remotely from the app.

The Kabola system provides instant hot water so no need to worry about running the tap for too long.

If the boiler fails, use the button in the electrical cupboard with host guidance.

Water tank levels are accessible via the screen within the electrical cupboard, the 400L tank is located under the bed and will be topped up before your stay. Should you need to top up the water you will find a hose attachment in the cupboard which will need to be put on to the external tap found outside the boat near to the bow. Once connected turn the tap on and fill. Once you reach 89% the tank is full, turn off the water tap and replace the nozzle back into the cupboard.

Electrics

Victron Connect account monitors system status which I can access remotely via the VRM system .

Ensure the boat is never below 33% charge by checking the screen within the electrical cupboard.

In summer we use solar panels; in winter, we will connect to mains power.
